  Based on current database entries
If you glance to the right (or above, if you're on our mobile site), you will notice a top ten list of the shortest dinosaurs by length, plucked from our prehistoric database. The list will be automagically updated as shorter species are discovered.

You may be wandering why this page specifies shortest "extinct" dinosaurs. If the list included all dinosaurs the number one slot would be taken by the bee hummingbird - native to Cuba and the Isle of Pines, where their 5.7 cm long, 1.7 gram bodies lay the worlds smallest eggs in the worlds smallest nests. Their diddy wings flap to the tune of sixty beats per second - up to 200 bps for flirting males - and have so utterly mastered the art of flight that they never walk more than an inch or two. You know that birds are dinosaurs, right?

Please bear in mind that all extinct dinosaur sizes are based on often-shabby remains using the not strictly scientific method of "guestimation". It ain't foolproof.
