Xuanhuaceratops niei

(Xuanhua horned face) Etymology
Xuanhuaceratops is derived from "Xuanhua" (for the Xuanhua district where it was discovered) and the Greek "ceras" (horn) and "-ops" (face). The species epithet, niei, honors Nie Rongzhen who made the type specimen available for study.
Discovery
The first remains of Xuanhuaceratops were discovered in the Houcheng Formation near the village of Yanjiagou, Xuanhua area, northern Hebei Province, China, in the 1970s.
The holotype (IVPP 12722) is a partial skeleton. Three more specimens were found in 2003.
