Baotianmansaurus henanensis

Baotianmansaurus is derived from "Baotianman" (for the Baotianman National Nature Reserve) and the Greek "sauros" (lizard).
The
species epithet,
henanensis, means "from Henan" in Latin.
Discovery
The remains of
Baotianmansaurus were discovered in the Gaogou Formation (Xixia Basin) at the Baotianman National Nature Reserve, Nanyang City, Neixiang County, Henan Province, China.
The
holotype (41HIII-0200, housed at the Henan Geological Museum at Zhengzhou) includes two partial back vertebrae, one complete and one partial hip vertebrae, one partial tail vertebra, five ribs, a partial shoulder blade and some unidentified bone fragments.
