Discovery
The remains of Albinykus were discovered in the Javkhlant Formation at the Khugenetslavkant locality in the eastern part of the Gobi Desert, Mongolia, in 2004, among small pieces of dinosaur egg shell and isolated juvenile Yamaceratops elements.
The holotype (IGM 100/3004) consists of two hip bones (pieces of right ilium and ischium), a fragmentary right thigh, both nearly complete shins, portions of both calf bones, and both feet.
