Bolong yixianensis

(Bo dragon from Yixian)Etymology
Bolong is derived from "Bo" for brothers Bo Hai-Chen and Bo Xue (the Chinese list their family name first) who discovered and excavated the first specimen, and the Chinese "long" (dragon). The species epithet, yixianensis, means "from Yixian" in Latin, referring to both the Yixian Formation where it was found and Yixian City where its fossils—at the Yizhou Fossil Museum—are housed.
Discovery
The holotype of Bolong (YHZ-001), a partial skull and skeleton, was found in the Dakangpu Member of the Yixian Formation, Bataigou, Toutai, Yixian County, western Liaoning Province, China, by Bo Hai-Chen and Bo Xue in 2000. A very young specimen (ZMNH M8812), found preserved on a slab of stone by a local farmer at Xitaizhi Village, Shantou Town, Ningcheng County, Nei Mongol, China, represents the first juvenile non-hadrosaurid iguanodontian specimen known from the Early Cretaceous of eastern Asia.
Preparators
Yuqing Zhang and Chaohe Yu, under the supervision of Dr Junchang Lü (juvenile specimen).
