Yuanmouraptor jinshajiangensis

(Yuanmou Plunderer from Jinshan River)Etymology
Yuanmouraptor is derived from "Yuanmou" (for Yuanmou County where the holotype was collected) and the Latin "raptor" (plunderer, robber, thief). The species epithet, jinshajiangensis, is derived from the Chinese "jinshajiang" (Jinsha River) and the Latin "ensis" (from).

Discovery
The remains of Yuanmouraptor were discovered in the Zhanghe Formation on the north bank of the Jinsha River, Xiabanjing Village, Jiangyi Township, Yuanmou County, Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, China. The holotype (LFGT-ZLJ0115) is partial skeleton consisting of a nearly complete skull with lower jaw, ten neck vertebrae and one back vertebra. It was excavated by a field team led by Guo-Fu Wang and De-Zhi Liu of Chuxiong Prefectural Museum in March 2006.
