Koreaceratops hwaseongensis

Koreaceratops is derived from "Korea" (the country in which it was found) and the Greek "ceras" (horned) and "ops" (face). The species epithet, hwaseongensis, is derived from "Hwaseong" (the city in which the fossil site is located) and the Latin "-ensis" (from).
Discovery
Koreaceratops /or at least part of it/ was discovered in a sandstone block from the Tando Beds Formation, Hwaseong City, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea, which was stuck in the Tando embankment dam between Tando
dock and Jeongok harbour. The dam was built in 1994, but the fossils weren't spotted by an eagle-eyed public official of Hwaseong City until 2008.
The holotype (KIGAM VP 200801) is an articulated series of 36 tail (caudal) vertebrae, a couple of hip bones (ischia), partial hind limbs and feet.
