Borealosaurus wimani

(Wiman's Northern Lizard)Etymology
Borealosaurus is derived from the Latin "borealis" (northern), referring to the location of the fossil site in northern China, and the Greek "sauros" (lizard).
The species epithet, wimani, honours Swedish palaeontologist Carl Wiman, who named the first Chinese dinosaur.
Discovery
The remains of Borealosaurus were discovered in the Sunjiawan Formation at Shuangmiao village, Beipiao, Liaoning, China, and excavated by personnel from the Liaoning Fossil Museum in Beipiao from 1999-2002.
The holotype (LPM 0167) is a tail vertebra. Referred specimens include LPMO169 (an isolated tooth crown), LPMO168 (another tail vertebra) and LPMO170 (a right humerus) from the same locality.
