Chadititan calvoi
(Calvo's Titan of the Salt)Etymology
Chadititan is derived from the Mapundungum "chadi" (salt), referring to its discovery near an extensive salt flat, and the Greek "titan" (for the giant pre-Olympian gods), a common suffix attached to members of Titanosauria.
The
species epithet,
calvoi, honours the late Jorge O. Calvo (1962–2023) who described several titanosaurs and coined the
name Rinconsauria.
