Dandakosaurus indicus

(Indian Dandakaranya Lizard)Etymology
Dandakosaurus is derived from "Dandakaranya" (a historical region in India, and the name of a forest mentioned in the ancient Indian epic Ramayana) and the Greek "sauros" (lizard).
The species epithet, indicus, means "Indian" in Latin.
Discovery
The remains of Dandakosaurus were discovered in the Kota Formation in the Pranhita—Godavari Valley, Andhra Pradesh, India, between 1958 and 1961.
The holotype (GSI 1/54Y/76) is a partial pubis.
